Lemon Drop Martini... EXTRA Dirty

Hi ladies! Quick post for today! I wanted to see if I could make a yellow holo polish because I feel like I haven't seen those around too much. Simple enough right? I started with a mini bottle filled up about 75% of the way with TKB Glmour Base. I then followed it up with about 2 drops of TKB Basic Yellow Jellie and one drop of Wonder Beauty Products Primary Yellow Color Base (this base IS a cream so add too much and your polish will be too opaque!). I finished the polish off with one decent sized scoop of Wonder Beauty Products Prismatic Platinum Illusion Powder (Spectraflair alternative) and topped it off with suspension Base. I called this polish Lemon Drop Martini

I was a little bummed that I couldn't get this a little more holo. I still like the overall look but it was SO frustrating that I couldn't just coax it out. Now onto my bigger issue, given that the Spectraflair alternative is a silver base color, it turned the yellow into an almost dirty yellow while in the shade (hence the name). Dirty to the point, in fact, that my friend Chris thought the polish was green. A wonderful yellow-green booger color. And not like the awesome booger color of Butter London Wallis, just straight booger green/yellow... awesome. In sunlight I love the color, but in the shade....meh...

So that's all for my semi-fail polish. I'm really excited to show you what I have coming up these next couple days including and emerald glitter and my first ever Stump the Femme polish! See you all on Wednesday and remember to always keep it classy and creative!

xo

  1. Hmmm...maybe a touch of Trendsetter here? I think it's nice for a yellow. The holo makes it looks like a lemon rind. :)

    1. Yes almost like trendsetter! But I consider Trendsetter more of a "pukey yellow green" vs this "booger yellow green" gotta make sure I keep my bodily functions straight lol. But thank you, a lemon rind seems much lovelier ;)

  2. I don't think booger! I think it would look great on warm skin tones like mine ~

    1. Thanks girl! I think you're right! Maybe it just boils down to I'm the wrong color ;)

  3. Always make sure that you are very much an independent contractor, not an employee.
You don't need to consume advanced level pills that would have some side impact on you.
