Guess who's back, back... back again?!

Hello my lovelies! No your eyes do not deceive you, I am in fact, back in the ring and feeling refreshed! I knew it was about time to get back to blogging when I actually missed editing pictures (which is normally the bane of my existence). I look forward to showing you what I have been up to while on my blogcation! First things first, I do want to open up to you a bit and let you know a little bit about what I see for ymself in the future of blogging.

First things first, don't worry. I don't intend to go anywhere anytime soon. Secondly, I'm going to be honest, blogging is difficult. There is ALOT of time required to not only think of polishes, but to then create them, photograph them, edit the photos, and blog about them. It is very difficult, I think, for alot of bloggers to find a good balance between blogging and having a personal life. That being said, I am fallible. After awhile I got extremely overwhelmed not only with finding my personal balance, but also with comparing myself to other bloggers (perfect photos, perfect nails, perfect cuticles, how DO they do it??). Ultimately, I let myself get burnt out and blogging was the last thing I wanted to do. Enter stage left the great Franken Femme blogcation of 2013. The down time was very relaxing, though I am glad to be back. However, there will be a very minute change. A good source of my stress was trying too hard to make sure that I blogged three times a week as I originally intended. This led to the creation of rushed and unimaginative polishes. I have vowed to myself to no longer put that pressure on myself. I will still try to blog three times a week but if I don't have the time or creativity for it, I won't push it and I won't feel guilty for it (not that any of you have ever ever made me feel guilty). So that being said, I really truly appreciate those of you who have stuck with me and continue to stick with me. I love hearing and talking to you (and I have actually probably missed that more than anything else!)

So now that I have been a complete sap and revealed my silly blogger insecurities, let's move on to the polish shall we? This is one of the polishes I have been most excited about recently so I can't wait to show you! This mini started out with about 3/4 of a bottle's worth of TKB Glamour Base. I followed it up with 3 drops of TKB Brown colorant polish (which is oddly more of a terra cotta/orange color?), two drops of Wet 'n' Wild White Creme, one drop of Color Club Rebel Spirit (a dark, almost black chocolatey brown crelly) from the 2011 Back to Boho Collection, two drops TKB basic Yellow Jellie, one scoop of Wonder Beauty Products Prismatic Platinum Illusion powder, and half a scoop of TKB copper sparks. Now, what I was aiming for was a tan or nude-ish holo to match my tan and black chevron printed dress that I had picked out to go to the wedding of a close friend of mine. Here's the final product!

Holo in the sun

The ingredients aaaaaaaaand the side of my lightbox, oopsies

I haven't named this baby oddly enough but I did want you to see what I did for the wedding mani. Index and pinkie have two coats of Ozotic 526, a linear black. Ring finger accent is of course, a mustache, and that wicked off center decal on my thumb says "I mustache you a question" (both are decals from the Born Pretty store)

ALLTHEHOLOGOODNESS

Now, onto the formula. Swatches show two thick coats. There was no dragging or pulling and it dried super smooth. I used Sally Hansen Insta Dry for top coat and did not affect the holo. The linear was much more apparent in real life and the copper sparks were apparent even in dim light. Well my loves, that is all for my inaugural back into blogging posts! I look forward to seeing you back next time for more awesome frankens! But until then, remember to keep it classy and creative

 xo

  1. Yayyyy! You're back!! You can't keep an exceptionally creative and cool mind down. :) I hope you're feeling great. I am starting to think we should all have a monthly guy-spill about insecurities, LOL. As for this polish, it's a lovely neutral...and in a holo variety it makes it an even more attractive neutral. :)

It reminds me of what is perhaps the most spectacular nude polish ever, Butter London All Hail The Queen. I mustache you a question, tee her hee :D
