Raspberry Beret

Be honest now, did you sing that title in your head in a high pitched Prince voice? If no, shame on you! If yes, good so did I! Haha I'm kidding... no I'm not. I totally sang it.

So getting right into the polish, here is a sneak peek

I started this polish with 2/3 of a mini bottle's worth of TKB Glamour Base. I then added about 3-4 drops of TKB Amethyst glycerine dispersed colorant (which is a dark slightly blue toned colorant). Next, I added about 6 good drops of Wonder Beauty Products Primary Red Color Base. I then also added a small scoop of TKB EZB 82nd Avenue powdered pigment (which is a bright semi neon pink toned purple pigment). Once I made a gorgeous raspberry wine jelly, I finally added 2 good sized scoops of YouMix .015 magenta holo hex glitter and one small scoop of TKB Luminosity scattered holo glitter.

Reader, please meet my super nubbin!

Swatches show 2 thick coats plus one coat of top coat. I love how the color is good to transition into Fall but not so dark that it's a vamp. The jelly of the polish is perfect for showcasing off the magenta holo glitter. The polish did dry a bit matte however, the formula was easy and the glitter glided on smoothly. Now... onto the bad news. Brace yourself folks

Seriously, what on earth is this nonsense!? Good gracious that's bad. I used my standard PVA basecoat and can honestly say I have NEVER had staining like this. However, I did find this awesome post that explains a little bit more about this staining fiasco. I don't think it's enough to turn me away from this polish though, it's just too vibrant and gorgeous.

Well, that's all for today folks, don't forget to enter my giveaway, it ends in 6 days! So I leave you with this hilarious photo and a reminder to keep it classy and creative

Now THAT is funny (credit)

  2. LOLOL...what the heck is up with that kid??!! And WOW, while this is, I dare say, in your top 3 of beautiful creations, that staining looks like you had a knock-down, drag-out with raspberry Kool-Aid!

    1. I hope when I have a kid it's half as cool as that mini Prince, lol. Top 3 is a pretty heft claim so thank you very much! As for the Kool-Aid man, I'd never challenge him to a fight; he is mildly terrifying.
