Golden Coral

Betcha can't guess what today's polish looks like based on the post title. THAT, my friends, is creativity at it's finest. Consider yourselves lucky that I'm sharing it with you. Lol, who am I kidding? That's terrible. Hopefully you can make it past the name long enough to check out the actual redeeming qualities of this beauty! Of course, I could play it off like a Golden Corral restaurant joke, but Lord knows that place is NOT funny…. *shudder*

I started this polish off with TKB Luster Base. I next added one drop of TKB Basic Red Nail Polish Colorant to tint the base a red jelly color. Finally, I added 2 medium scoops of Glitter Unique's Rose Gold micro flakies and one medium scoop of TKB Gold Reflecks. When all was said and done, I created a pinky red coral with gold micro flakies!

Photos show the polish as a little more orange toned than it really is. But this thing is gorgeous! Oh, the feels! There is this gorgeous soft gold shifter coming from the reflecks and the microflakies add some awesome dimension. Swatches show two coats plus fast dry top coat. Formula self leveled like a boss and there were no problems with dragging or balding. Such a lovely juicy color for when the weather warms up! What do you think?

Well that's all for Golden Coral! I hope you have a wonderful safe weekend! See you back next time for more creative genius! Heh.

But until then, remember to always keep it classy and creative

Drugstore Digits Series: (Insert name here)

Hello ladies, halfway through the week! I don't know about anyone else, but if the week wanted to hurry up at all, I'd totally be ok with that. Work?

unknown.jpg

So anyways, today's polish is super simple, I used about a third of a bottle of Spoiled by Wet 'n' Wild Let's get Sushi a lovely coral color with muted shimmer (and pretty opaque to boot!), I then added a liberal amount of Nicole By OPI's Disco Dolls a gold micro glitter with larger multicolored glitter. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much of this I put in because this stuff was stupid thick and it kind of just got globbed in the bottle. I followed it up by topping the bottle off with Rimmel Lasting Finish PRO Crystal Clear top coat to thin out the thickness of the polish due to Disco Dolls. When mixed, the base color definitely darkened a bit due to the gold glitter but it still seems super summery to me and reminds be of beaches, bright sun, and tans! So I'm sorry my loves, she will remained unnamed as I am stumped but here she is:

Macro, I love the depth that the glitter gives the overall color

Well this is my nameless wonder. She was opaque in two coats and probably still could have used a little more clear coat to thin the polish out. But it definitely was easy to manage. No pooling and dry time was pretty average. All pictures show one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. She may be nameless but let's face it guys, she's not going quietly.

This is it for this franken, it's super easy and I feel like the effect is so much more complex than the process, which I dig. Hope to see you around next time for some more drugstore creations, I still have a few up my sleeve!

Can't wait to see you back and until then, always keep it classy and creative!

Surfin USA *** Pic heavy ***

Hello ladies! Hope you had an awesome weekend! I watched the Big Game last night but if we are being completely honest here, I didn't care much for either team. I was rooting for the commercials, lol. Well that and food...because food always wins. Ha! So today's terribly named franken (seriously people I need help naming here) is going to be pretty pic heavy because this thing freaked my camera the eff out. I am absolutely in love with this one though, it reminds me of everything I have to look forward to in the coming months, sun, fun, beaches....ahhhh. So this polish was made by starting off with TKB's Luster base. I then added a couple drops each of a Color Club set I found at Ross (I want to say it's the Electro Candy Collection from 2009?) of both the orange and pink colors until I ended up with a very orange based coral base. From there I added two scoops each of neon pink matte hex and brick red matte hex. Finally I added three scoops of matte yellow hex. From that was born the shade that screams summer, which I call Surfin' USA! Pictures will be shown in both shade and the sun to help better demonstrate the true color of the polish

This my friends, is what it looks like when your camera has a temper tantrum. But it does show how incredibly bright and cheery this polish is

The shade shots help to show you the base color as well as how well it works with the pink, yellow, and brick red glitter. Also, given the jelly of the polish, you can totally see the depth of the glitter!

So this shade is pretty sheer initially. Pictures show three coats with absolutely no VNL. This thing has a great concentration of glitters and did not need to really be placed or dabbled to get the coverage you see here. Surprisingly enough, one coat of top coat made this smooth. Auuggh, I'm in love! Makes me happy just looking at it!

Well ladies that's all for today, see you back next time, we have another matte! Wahoo!! Looking forward to see you again and until next time, remember to keep it classy and creative! Muah!
