Penny Lane

Happy happy happy friday! My weekend will be full of cleaning to get ready to show our house as we will be moving in the next couple months. Big things happening in my house and I am pretty excited!

Well last week, one of you lovely ladies mentioned that one of the brown Erikonail glitters I bought reminded her of tarnished pennies, so I took that idea and ran with it. I started with half a bottle of TKB Luster base. I then followed it up with 3 good scoops of the Erikonail ERI-167 brown glitter hexes, two scoops of TKB's Mo' Betta Brown Glitter (ridiculous name, I know), and finally put in one scoop of TKB Gold Dust from the Mermaid Collection (this is a glass fleck type of glitterish thing, TKB calls it Calcium Sodium Borosilicate. I just call it pretty gold stuff). I then added a few drops of Color Club Nouveau Vintage which I purchased in the Back to Boho Collection from Ross. I topped it off which more suspension base, shook that bad boy up, and Penny Lane was born!

Macro shot, you can see the gold fleck and copper hexes. The brown glitter takes more of a backseat to add depth

As you can see, this polish came out wonderfully complex but put together. The copper hexes add a little extra flair to the warm rich brown base. The gold adds dimension and sparkle. Not to toot my own horn or anything (lol, toot toot) but this has to be one of the easiest polishes I have made to apply. This self leveled well, did not pool my cuticles at all, and only went where my brush put it. The first coat is sheer and a little uneven but, these photos show two thick coats. It is smooth to the touch but I did add one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry for the glass-like shine.

Well that's all for Penny Lane, she is a sassy lass if I do say so myself. And in case you might not have realized it, this polish name came from pretty much one of the best movies EVER. If you haven't seen it, consider yourself having plans this weekend to check it out. Seriously amazing.

So my loves, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to see you back on Monday for more frankens (please note that I am NOT excited for Monday in and of itself)! Remember, always keep it classy and creative!
